Kazahaya : I've done with my shower.
Nayuki  : Nnh.
Kazahaya : Then again, it's really convenient  for all the rooms in the hostel to have their own bathrooms.
Nayuki  : Without the bathrooms, it'd mean that everyone would have to go to th big communal showers [hot springs? Probably]. There'd be a lot of trouble at the hot springs.
Kazahaya : A lot of trouble?
Nayuki  : Everyone's naked there.
Kazahaya : Yeah.
Nayuki  : So the temptations are very strong.
Kazahaya : What?
Nayuki  : And there'd be some guys there who'd do some strange things.
Kazahaya : Why?
Nayuki  : To see naked bodies. There was once a rape case in the communal showers -  after that,  every room got it's own bathroom. The sudden work was rather troublesome.
Kazahaya : Rape!
Nayuki  : Luckily. Kudoh'd easily be seen as a target.
Kazahaya : Me... Me? Why?
Nayuki  : Like I said, you're beautiful.
Kazahaya : Beautiful or not, they shouldn't have raped him! If they both consented, it'd be a different thing, but forcing it on an unwilling party is just too sick!

Nayuki  : ...sick?...
Kazahaya : Yeah! How can you force these things!
Nayuki  : True. This kinda thing should be done with the consent of both parties.
Kazahaya : Nayuki?
Nayuki  : It'd be the best feeling to do it with someone you like.
Kazahaya : True enough...
Nayuki  : Eh? You mean you've never tried?

Kazahaya : S... Sorry.
Nayuki  : You OK? You catch a cold or something?
Kazahaya : No, no... [I shouldn't be thinking about this now. I have work to do...] Nayuki?

Kazahaya : WHAT--!?
Nayuki  : Not like we have a choice, with no girls around.
Kazahaya : If there're no girls, then don't do this kinda thing! Why choose among the girls?!
Nayuki  : Ah come on, it's only for fun. It's OK.
Kazahaya : It is NOT OK! This is too much!
Nayuki  : And then, the chosen bride will take part in the wedding ceremony.
Kazahaya : How do you get married with only a bride!
Nayuki  : Right. So...
[Knock on the door]
Nayuki  : Come in.
Kazahaya : Ah, Rikuou?
Nayuki  : Close enough to call each other's first names already!

Rikuou  : Can you come out for a while.
Kazahaya : Errrr... yeah.

Rikuou  : It would've been better  if you hadn't called my name, Kazahaya.

Rikuou  : They'll take it out of the safe before the Culture fesitival. If we wait too long, we'll have to wait for another half year.
Kazahaya : In other words, our only chance is from when the Festival starts, to when the festival ends.
Rikuou  : Yes.
Kazahaya : But if it's on display, how are we gonna get close to it?
Rikuou  : How we're getting close to it is not a problem, and it's open and aboveboard.
Kazahaya : How!?
Rikuou  : ... For you, there should be no problem.
Kazahaya : Ah? Come to think of it, Nayuki did mention that the ring was tied up in some legend...
Rikuou  : Legend?
Kazahaya : You know about it?
Rikuou  : Nope. I'll ask my roommate.
Kazahaya : Who's your roommate?
Rikuou  : Mukoufujiwara, the Council President, on Room 304 on this floor.
Kazahaya : Ah. I see. [sneezes]
Rikuou  : Idiot. [Takes off jacket and gives it to Kazahaya]
Kazahaya : Eh?
Rikuou  : You just finished your bath, right?
Kazahaya : ... Ah, mm-hmm. Eh? [sees a shadow enter 308's door]
Kazahaya : [Screams] Ah~~~~~~~~~~~~!
